Specifications

  • Pressure Treated Timber is used on the framework and exterior of all sheds.
  • Do not confuse Pressure Treated with Pre Treated or Exterior Treatment.
  • Pressure Treated timber will last far longer than timber treated by other methods.
  • This treatment can be certified by our suppliers.
  • Pressure treatment will prevent decay due to dampness but will not prevent damage such as warping and splitting by the sun.
  • Extreme temperatures may cause timber to warp. This is a natural occurrence. When timber dries small knots may fall out, there is no way to prevent this, as this is also a natural occurrence.
  • The manufacturer is not responsible for warping that may occur.

We recommend the exterior be treated with a suitable wood preserver or varnish as soon as possible after installation.

  • eg. Classic finish - Varnish or Quick Drying Woodstain.
  • Rustic finish  – Waterbased wood preservative (Cuprinol Timbercare or Ronseal Fence Life).
  • Joints may need to be resealed at some stage.

The exterior timber on sides of Classic shed is imported from Scandanavia / Northern Europe.

Torch felt is resistant to storm damage and is much longer lasting than mineral felt.

Felt Lined Walls are standard on all large sheds and optional on small sheds. Felt lining is a barrier against dampness. Felt used is called Slaters Felt as is used under roof tiles or slates on dwelling houses.

Window Pane: Toughened Glass ( sizes 24” x 24” & 18” x 24” ).

Diffusion Galvanised Nails are used on the exterior, which are 3 times more resistant to corrosion than hot-dipped galvanised nails.

Sidewalls are higher [6’ approx.] and roof framework is stronger than most other garden sheds.

Plan for base preparation will be forwarded after placement of order or if required the base can be prepared by our erectors on level ground using an alternative method. Ring for details of number of blocks required and cost.
